Independent Spirit Award Fashion and Winners!

The Independent Spirit Awards award smaller films that usually do not get the attention of the large award shows. This year was dominated by Silver Linings Playbook, not a surprise, while The Perks of Being a Wallflower received Best First Film and Safety Not Guaranteed won Best First Screenplay. The Sessions actors John Hawkes and Helen Hunt swept their categories, even though Hawkes went unnoticed by the large shows.

The Independent Spirit Awards are always a welcome break after all the fancy dress award shows. The atmosphere is laid back and actors are able to show off their personal style in more casual dress. Dark and emerald green was a hit with Zoe Saldana, Kerry Washington and host Andy Samberg. While Ellen Page, Sofia Coppola and Helen Hunt went for slim legs and boxy jackets and sweaters. Although the style is casual, stars still look chic and show they are fashion forward.

The rest of the fashion and winners are below.
