Vogue February 2013

Every issue of Vogue contains a clear colour story or theme – this month being black and white. The photographs in every section of this magazine are clear, thematic and stunning. It is so hard not to cut out every picture and tape it to my wall. Grace Coddingtons editorials are always a favourite, her bold contrasts, bizarre settings and incredible stories open your mind up to a world rather than just a moment.

Instead of buying the magazine from the London Drugs down the street, I decided to purchase the iPad subscription. It took forever, pushing back my decision a couple weeks but as I opened the February issue and saw this (below) – I was floored. The app is easy to use, interactive and interesting, it also allows this post with a lot less work.

February’s Vogue, with random cover girl Rooney Mara, clearly shows the current spring summer trend black and white. The bold contrast between the two shades creates stunning patterns and bold colour blocking. Solange Knowles rocks this look, with a checkered blouse, striped sweater and adventurous pants. To keep the look from being boring, a pop of colour can bring a vivid punch to the look.
