Love Actually

love actually

Love, Actually is one of the best Christmas movies of all time. The intertwined plots, incredible actors and beautiful stories make this movie perfect for the holiday season.

This movie is about love, plain and simple. Each plot explores different love in different forms, exposing the pain of first loves, the joy of marriage and the heartbreak caused by love straying.

Love, Actually begins and ends in an airport, the arrivals gate at Heathrow, where you can see true love. Reuniting with loved ones at the holidays is always filled with love and happiness.

Sandwiched between these scenes of bliss are the ins and outs of love. The messy bits, the pain and heartache, but also the fun flirty beginnings, the companionship, the love that will be with you forever.

Written and directed by Richard Curtis, Love Actually focuses on the lives of eight completely different people. These characters were all perfectly cast, featuring a slew of amazing English actors: Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Martin Freeman, Keira Knightly and Hugh Grant.

This movie is beautiful and is perfect for the holiday season. In college watching this movie as a group (with wine and cheese) became a tradition – cheering when characters kissed and booing every time the slutty girl came on screen.

This movie gives every emotion felt on this holiday season but ends on an unlifting note. It reminds you what is important in life and to keep in mind that love actually is all around.
